University Barge Club was organized “for the purpose of instruction and improvement in, and enjoyment of, the art of rowing, and the cultivation of a friendly feeling in all of those who participate in this amusement and exercise.” Our Club has done that for more than 150 years. UBC offers memberships to women and men of all ages who row and/or cox, scull and/or sweep both recreationally or competitively. Throughout the year, members enjoy many formal and informal social events and gatherings, as well as volunteer opportunities.
To be considered for membership, an existing member is required to sponsor and submit a prospective member’s proposal and actively solicit other potential supporters. After a period of interviews, meetings, and social interactions, the Club will notify the sponsor of its decision to elect the prospective member. If you are unsure of whom you may have a relationship or affiliation, please complete the form below and offer as much detail about yourself as possible.
